If you receive a "Content Missing" error (formerly "Samples Missing') when loading an instrument, there are a couple things that could be happening - both of which are easy to fix.
STEP 1: CONFIRM YOUR LIBRARY FOLDER IS COMPLETE
For starters, quit any host programs like Sibelius, Dorico, Logic, etc, then launch Kontakt in standalone mode.
In the Kontakt side pane, click the 'down-arrow' icon next to your library and select Open Containing Folder. This will open the library folder on your computer.
Check the contents of your library folder to confirm that they appear complete. Here’s an article that illustrates what a properly populated VDL Library Folder should look like. Be sure to check the file sizes as well.
If your library folder appears correct and in tact, proceed to step 2. If it’s incomplete (or if file sizes are too small), delete your entire library folder then reinstall.
Note: We recommend you take this opportunity to update to the latest version of the library if you haven't already.
STEP 2: REPAIR YOUR LIBRARY IN NATIVE ACCESS BY RELOCATING IT
Launch Native Access, and click the Library tab to view your products.
If your product shows an alert and displays a Repair button. Click it.
Navigate to the actual location of your library folder, and you should receive a message that your library has been successfully relocated.
Launch Kontakt and load an instrument and confirm the "Samples Missing" error no longer appears.
