The easiest way to uninstall Virtual Drumline from your machine is to launch Native Access, go to the Library tab, and next to the product, click the ••• icon and select Uninstall. This will entirely remove the VDL library folder from your machine, and that's it!

EXTRA CREDIT

If you want to wipe out any trace of VDL from your computer's preference files, follow the steps below. In general, there isn't much of a need to do this, but deleting these files will ensure your machine is squeaky clean.

macOS

  • Delete the main "Virtual Drumline 2.5" library folder and all its contents (wherever you've placed it)
  • Delete the.plist file at Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences>com.native-instruments.Virtual Drumline 2.5.plist
  • Delete the.xml file at Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Native Instruments>Service Center>Virtual Drumline 2.5.xml
  • Delete the .plist file at Macintosh HD>Users>*Your User Name*>Library>Preferences>com.native-instruments.Virtual Drumline 2.5.plist *

Once all of these files have been moved to the trash, empty the trash, restart your Mac, and your library will be completely uninstalled.

*Note: Since Mac OS 10.7 (Lion), the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on the Go menu from Finder and press down the 'Option' key. You'll now find the Library entry appears in the menu.

Windows

  • Delete the main "Virtual Drumline 2.5" library folder and all its contents (wherever you've placed it)
  • Ensure that Native Access is NOT launched.
  • In the Start Menu search bar, type regedit and press enter. This will open the Registry Editor.

  • In the dropdown on the left hand side, look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Native Instruments and delete the Virtual Drumline 2.5 folder.

  • Next, continuing from the dropdown go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Native Instruments and delete Virtual Drumline 2.5 folder as in the previous step.

  • Open Native Access and check that the library is no longer listed in the Installed category.

Once all of these files have been completely deleted, empty the recycle bin, restart your computer, and your library will be completely uninstalled.
